Adding a Touch of Flavor; Coriander & Turmeric



Spices are no longer confined to the Indian cuisines but today, spices have found their use in dishes all around the world. And not just dishes, spices like coriander and turmeric are being widely used and recognized for their beneficial properties too like having excellent medicinal values, being anti bacterial in nature and being used in the manufacture of drinks, beverages and perfumes too.

The turmeric is also used in the rhizome form in some cases.

India is the world’s largest producer of turmeric. Turmeric has a wide variety of uses. The use of turmeric as a spice and for adding flavor to the dishes has been known since ancient days. Coriander is obtained in its dried form as a fruit of an herbaceous plant of the parsley family that grows annually. The coriander is used commonly as a curry powder and in soups and stews. Coriander is also used in the manufacture of several beverages and perfumes. Its use as an aromatic stimulant and high anti bacterial property account for its popularity too.
